The baked potatoes are 100% Caribou Russet potatoes, while the mashed, skins, and fries are a mixture of varieties of Maine Potatoes.“We are happy to support local, and it makes that decision even easier when the local product is one of the best,” said Charlie Noyes, president of Ninety Nine Restaurants. “When we think of Maine Potatoes, we think of quality, pride, and delicious flavor.”“The Caribou Russet is a potato variety that is in high demand,” said Jeff Irving of Irving Farms Marketing, growers of the Caribou Russet potatoes being used at Ninety Nine Restaurants. “It’s what we call a potato lover’s potato because the natural flavor is top notch. Sure, it tastes great with all of the toppings like butter and sour cream and cheese, but it also tastes great on its own.”“We believe the Maine Potato is the best potato in the country,” said executive director of the Maine Potato Board, Don Flannery. “Ninety Nine is a great restaurant, and a great company with strong New England roots. It has been a delight to work with their team to ensure quality local agriculture being used in their restaurants. Dining out is a treat. And dining out with food that is locally sourced is even better. We are thrilled with this relationship and are excited about the future.”Ninety Nine Restaurants is headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts.
