Before going too far, let me first try to explain what junk food is. These are foods rich in fats and saturated fat for that mater. These fat is not helpful to the body. Too much of it is known to lead to human health problems. If you still don’t get it, I would urge you to make a visit to such fast food restaurants as Burger King or McDonalds. Many restaurants have in the recent days increased all over the globe with many of them being opened in the developed and the developing world.

Food that falls under the category of quick foods include potato chips or French fries as they are commonly referred, Hot dogs, hamburgers, soft drinks and such like. Although these foods are very sweet to the mouth, the truth is that they are a health hazard. Fast foods or junk foods are known to cause heart related diseases or cardiovascular disease when consumed without restraint.

Other human health conditions associated with such diets include kidney related complications and liver ailments. One common problem experienced by those who consume such foods is that they always complain of tiredness or slow mental process. This is caused by too much fat in the body which to some extend slows down the body’s metabolism. Simply put, the heart finds it difficult to function normally hence the slowed process of eliminating waste or toxins from the body. Research conducted on obese women show that those who engage in consuming fast foods have the possibility of their menstrual periods altered. Another may not have it at all because the body is made to give wrong signals to the mind so to speak.

Fast foods or rather junk foods are the number one cause of heart related sicknesses in America and other nations where people are not keen on their health status. These foods affect the human health by straining the heart so that it cannot function as normal as it should. No wonder the number of people with high blood pressure has increased tremendously since the invention of fast foods. There is also the danger of developing other sicknesses such as diabetes type 1 and 2. Although type diabetes type one is normally considered hereditary, type two is caused by unhealthy eating. Since fast foods contain too much salt and fat, they are therefore liable for causing high blood pressure to those who consume them.
