West Texas ‘chuckwagon cook’ to appear on Food Network’s ‘Chopped’ this month
,
In a recent Facebook post, Petersburg resident Courtney Kattner, a self-described ‘chuckwagon cook,’ announced that she would be featured on an upcoming episode of the Food Network’s “Chopped” cooking competition series on May 24.
The reality-based cooking show features chefs competing against one another using unique ingredients to create meals for a panel of judges with the winner taking home a cash prize. The popular culinary show first aired in 2009 and has a variety of segments highlighting meals and cuisines from around the globe.
The “Chopped” cooking competitions come with a twist as the chefs often do not know which ingredients they will be provided to craft their culinary creations. The goal is to create one final product with the judges critiquing creativity, taste and presentation.
The episode will air at 8 p.m. CST on May 24 on The Food Network Channel or online.
