Renovation project for Medical Center and North Campus completed by spring 2023


AnMed Health announced a $45 million multi-faceted expansion project for the hospital system that will stretch through 2023 at a press conference at the Medical Center on N. Fant Street this morning. AnMed health says the expansion is based on a trend toward shorter hospital stays and increased outpatient treatments.”Over the years the components of our systems have changed, as needs have changed,” said AnMed Health CEO William Kenley. “We have never wavered from our core purpose, improving the health of our community through the provision of high-quality, high-value healthcare services.”The expansion includes:Enhanced surgical services at the Medical Center with a new all-private same-day surgery area.Expanded emergency services at the Medical Center.Relocation of maternity and nursery services to the Medical Center.Accommodation of additional outpatient growth and enabling of future clinical programming at North Campus.AnMed Health also announced a new leadership position to lead the development of new strategies. Brett Justice has been named Chief Strategy Officer and Vice President of Strategic Planning, Marketing and Business Development. AnMed Health recently purchased the land outside of McCants Middle School off of HWY 81 in Anderson County, and while officials did not specifically speak to what it will be used for at this mornings press conference, they did say that it is the perfect location to be developed between both the Medical Center and the North Campus for adding another opportunity for Anderson County to receive the health care they deserve.
