And his success has inspired him to become a personal trainer on top of his job with the supermarket chain — famous for its slogan “Every little helps”.

Marcin, of Edinburgh, explained: “I’ve always been a big guy as far back as I can remember.

“But when I found out I was 191kg (30st) that was when I decided to change.

My diet was bad. I didn’t care what I ate or how much. Worst for me were crisps and chocolate.

“I was unhappy and wanted a change. It wasn’t a healthy lifestyle. After a few failed dieting attempts I finally gave it 100 per cent.”

Polish-born Marcin started his astonishing weight-loss journey on January 9 last year. He created his own low-calorie, high-protein diet of healthy foods and hit the gym.

After lockdown he did up to six home workouts a week. He swapped fizzy drinks for water, ditched the snacks and takeaway grub and took selfie snaps of his progress.

Now, after losing almost 17st, he said: “I had a goal and had to get it no matter what. My family and close friends kept pushing me on.

“And now I feel amazing. I’m a lot more confident and happier.”
