Lookout Rooftop is one of America’s best restaurants for a date

Four additional restaurants in Massachusetts made the list.

With stunning views and cozy fire pits, Lookout Rooftop is already considered among the top rooftop bars in Boston. And OpenTable just named the Seaport hot spot one of the best restaurants for a date in the entire country.

On Monday, the reservation platform released the “100 Best Restaurants for a Date in America for 2021,” a list compiled in partnership with Bumble, the online dating and networking app. Lookout Rooftop, which sits atop the Envoy hotel in the Seaport, was the only Boston restaurant to make the list.

Overlooking the Boston Harbor and downtown skyline, Lookout is a dreamy spot. Though more of a bar than a restaurant, Lookout does offer brunch, lunch, and light bites, along with cocktails, beer, and wine. Igloos will return to the rooftop bar later this fall, a special feature that makes for fun group dates. One of the Envoy’s other dining options, Outlook Kitchen, has temporarily closed, but Latin-inspired restaurant Para Maria opened within the hotel earlier this year, first as a pop-up, then as a permanent fixture.

To compile the list, OpenTable looked at diner reviews published between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021. Restaurants that met the minimum number of qualifying reviews were then scored and sorted according to the percentage of reviews in which “Good for Dates” was chosen as a notable feature.

Four additional Massachusetts restaurants landed on the list: Tavern in the Square in Burlington, Frank in Beverly, La Fina in Andover, and Tavern on the Wharf in Plymouth.
