If you’re looking for coffee or want to eat out or bring a meal in New Year’s Day, there is a smorgasbord of options Saturday.

Unlike Christmas Day, when many major chains closed with few exceptions, more restaurants will be open to bid 2021 farewell and welcome 2022.

But expect to find many restaurants operating with special hours Saturday. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants close at 6 p.m. Saturday, the chicken chain said in a blog post, noting hours can vary by location.

It’s often a franchise decision whether a restaurant opens on holidays, so check with your closest location before heading out.

For local restaurants, how far you’ll have to travel to find an open restaurant will also vary.

You also can check OpenTable for restaurants accepting holiday reservations, like Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Texas de Brazil.

If you want to cook a meal, most grocery stores are open New Year’s Day. Costco, Sam’s Club, Trader Joe’s and Aldi are among the stores staying closed.
